A Partial Denture or simply "Partial" is a dental prosthetic device which replaces some teeth in the upper and/or lower arch. Partial dentures are prescribed when there are still natural teeth in the arch and the remaining teeth are used to support the partial.

A Cast Partial Denture is made on a frame that is cast metal.

An Acrylic Partial Denture does not have a cast metal frame, and is used when the remaining natural teeth are not strong enough to support a cast partial denture.
